Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal in Sarnia by Laser Treatments
MedAesthtics Sarnia is pleased to offer our clients the latest technology in laser hair removal.
We have obtained the Gold Standard in Hair Removal Treatment - The Cynosure Elite MPX. This procedure offers permanent hair reduction.
How Does it Work?
The laser generates a beam of intense, concentrated light that is directed through a small hand piece to the treatment site. The laser energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair causing selective damage to the follicle. The laser treats more than one hair at a time so we are able to treat large areas in a short period of time.
How Will if Feel?
Some areas of our body are more sensitive that others, although most of our patients have reported little or no discomfort. In fact most of them have said waxing was by far the most painful.
Is it Permanent?
Our hair grows at different rates. We treat at 4, 6 or 8 week intervals to obtain optimum results. The result will be permanent hair reduction. There is no true permanent hair removal. Our body is constantly generating hair follicles.
How Do I Prepare for a Treatment?
No waxing for six weeks prior to treatment. We want the follicle to be intact. Shave the area to be treated before you come in.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Short- term side effects may include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling which typically lasts less than an hour. Laser hair removal does not make hair grow back thicker, darker or quicker.
Will laser Work On All Hair Colours?
No. Laser Hair Removal works the best with brown, dark brown and black hair. Remember the laser is attracted to the dark pigment of the hair follicle. It does not work well with blonde or grey hair. Some of our patients have had success with lighter hair, although more treatments may be required.
How Many Laser Hair Removal Treatments Are Needed?
You will need between 4 - 8 laser hair removal treatments. Treatments are given at 4-6 week intervals.
What About After The Treatment?
Wash normally with soap and water. Avoid sun exposure to the area. Avoid irritants such as products containing glycolic acid or Retin-A for 5-7 days. Hair remaining in the follicle will extrude typically within 1-2 weeks after the treatment. Do not pluck the hair from the follicle. If needed, it is ok to shave after 1 week.
