Laser Tattoo Removal
At MedAesthetics, we offer the most advanced technologies and treatments when it comes to laser services. Our clients take comfort in the fact that the devices and protocols we use are the best in the market.
This is why we use the Picoway laser, by Syneron Candela, for our laser tattoo removal service.
PicoWay is the leading tattoo removal technology in Canada, trusted by thousands of skincare professionals across North America. Unlike traditional laser tattoo removal, the PicoWay laser removes your unwanted ink in fewer treatments with less discomfort, providing better results with minimized risk.
How Does The Picoway Laser Work?
PicoWay laser delivers energy to the targeted area in very short, fast pulses, about 300-500 picoseconds at a time. To put that into perspective, one picosecond is one-trillionth of a second; in the past, lasers were only able to deliver pulses measured in nanoseconds or one billionth of a second. This makes the Picoway incredibly fast. In addition, the PicoWay laser has three wavelengths that it comes with: 532nm, 785nm, and 1064nm. The combination of the incredibly fast pulses, with the varied wavelengths, provides better results, faster with little downtime, and the ability to target a multitude of colours of ink and skin tones.
How Is A Tattoo Removed By Laser?
With the use of high powered energy delivered in extremely fast and short pulses, PicoWay blasts the tattooed ink particles into tiny little pieces. This is then removed naturally through the body’s lymphatic system. Due to the speed with which it works, PicoWay is able to treat ink selectively and leave surrounding skin tissue undamaged.
Compared to traditional laser tattoo removal methods that can take multiple treatments, PicoWay offers better clearance in less time. Depending on the size of the ink, and how deeply it is embedded, the treatment times or number of sessions can vary.
What To Expect With Each Treatment
There is virtually no downtime or recovery period with the PicoWay laser tattoo removal technique. Patients may experience a slight reddening, discolouration or lightening of the skin around the ink removal area. However, this is temporary and skin typically resumes to natural texture and tone.
