Project Description

The first yellow table-top laser for dermatology

Thanks to its special wavelength of 577 nm, the QuadroStarPROYELLOW represents the gold standard for vascular treatments such as telangiectasia, couperosis, spider nevus, cherry angioma, venous lake, port wine stains or red spider veins. It allows fast, effective and safe treatments and reduces side effects. Less fluence is needed to achieve the expected results and, thanks to the lower melanin absorption (compared to 532 nm), it is also suitable for the treatment of darker skin types.

Color Matters

Yellow = safer & more effective outcomes

The yellow wavelength (577nm) provides the best absorption when treating blood vessels. This translates to less power required during treatment, resulting in:

• Greater comfort
• Shorter healing period
• Reduced risk of side effects
• Ability to safely treat darker skin types

What conditions are treated with this laser?
1. Vascular Lesions
Telengectasias – Facial spider veins caused by a delation of capillary vessels or arterioles
Cherry Angiomas – Slightly raised, red lesions
Spider Angiomas – Slightly raised, red spider-like lesions

2. Pigmented Lesions
Lentingines – Flat, brown spots on the skin, present on skin with frequent sun exposure
Keratosis – Slightly elevated pigmented spots seen on face and back of hands
Freckles – Brownish spots on the skin, common on people with fair skin
Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra – Small black marks seen primarily on people of Asian or African descent

What should I expect during and after treatment?

Treatments vary, depending on patient characteristics and the area being treated. You will be asked to wear special goggles to protect your eyes from the intense beam of light. You will be placed in a reclined position, depending on the location of treatment. Your laser technician will use a “pencil thin” handpiece to direct a beam of laser light to the lesion. In most cases, anesthesia is not required; however, topical anesthesia may be used prior the treatment. Some patients report feeling a slight stinging sensation during the treatment followed by some redness which usually goes away in 2-4 hours. Some swelling may also be experienced and may last 1-2 days. There will not be any purple discoloration or bruised appearance to the treated skin. Postoperative care is minimal. You may be instructed to use an antibacterial ointment on the treated area for a short period of time and will suggest that you stay out of the sun during the healing process. Final treatment results should be evident within 10-14 days after treatment for vascular lesions and within 2-3 weeks after treatment for pigmented lesions. In the meantime, normal daily activities can be resumed with only a slight evident of the treatment area. You may require multiple treatments in order to achieve desired results.

How will I know if this laser treatment is right for me?

After a consultation we can determine if this laser treatment is appropriate for you and since this treatment takes only a few minutes, we are usually able to perform the procedure on your first appointment.
